Why apply a ceramic coating
In many cases, ceramic coating your paint is absolutely worth the price. It provides great protection against contaminants, chemical wear and minor scratches, all while making the vehicle much easier to clean up by providing a very hydrophobic layer and bringing up the gloss factor to your car's paint.
Quick Overview
Benefits
Ceramic Coatings form an ultra- durable, high-gloss, slick to the touch, chemically bonding inorganic layer of 9h optically clear ceramic. Once applied, gloss levels will remain in the upper 90th percentile for significantly longer when compared to traditional paint protection products, and cleaning your car will be a breeze.
The high density ceramic layer is resistant to chemicals ranging from pH2 - pH12. This characteristic also makes bonded contaminants such as tree sap, tar, and hard water spots, easy to remove.
Unlike mainstream wax and organic polymer coatings,Ceramic coatings can resist much higher and lower temperatures. They resist temperatures as low as -40o to as high as +250o C.
Preparation of Coating Application
To truly achieve the high gloss factor & best results of your coating, your car's paint will need a paint correction prior to application. A paint correction will ensure your paint will be in the best possible condition before coating so that scratches.
What Ceramic Coatings DO NOT Prevent or Do
Ceramic Coatings DO NOT prevent scratches, although it does help with preventing very light marring and swirl marks. Think of a ceramic coating more as a thin hard film that prevents oxidation, chemical wear, & fading of your clear coat due to elements & UV rays.
Ceramic coatings DO NOT offer physical protection from rock chips & road debris. Big misconception with coatings is that some brands may claim that they will physically protect your car's paint, that is not true. Paint protection film, or clear bra as it's also known, is what would actually provide a physical protective layer to rock chips & debris during driving conditions.
You will never have to wash your car. False! Just like anything else, ceramic coatings require maintenance if you want it to last. Weekly or bi-weekly professional detail washes are highly recommended as they have all necessary pH neutral chemicals & tools to ensure a clean wash without damaging your ceramic coating or surface. If you opt to maintain yourself a 2 bucket method with grit guards & pH neutral wash chemicals are HIGHLY recommended. Improper maintenance of your coating may also VOID your warranty. NEVER wash your coated car, truck or SUV at a quickwash or drivethru wash, doing so WILL VOID your coating's warranty.
